PARIS (AP) ? France's Foreign Ministry says that a French journalist who disappeared in Colombia was kidnapped during a clash between government forces and rebels.
The ministry cites Foreign Minister Alain Juppe as saying that Romeo Langlois "was kidnapped during a clash between Colombian troops and the FARC."
The ministry gave no details about who was holding Langlois or where.
Ministry spokesman Romain Nadal says the French government remains very prudent in all kidnapping cases to protect the safety of the hostages.
Romeo Langlois had been accompanying troops on a counterdrug mission in the Caqueta state. He went missing Saturday after combat with leftist rebels that killed three soldiers and a police officer.
